Speaking at his residence during an inspection by sanitation officers, the former president made the case for government to deploy sanitation officers across public places so as to ensure that the quest to achieving a clean city is achieved. Ghana's capital of Accra has been described as one of the dirtiest across the world - a development which has led to the present NPP administration setting up a special task force to ensure sanitation issues in the country are well addressed. "This affects us in so many ways, if we are to talk about corruption then sanitation is part of corruption. Let’s take the fight to them for all to see so as to gain much respect for ourselves and the environment," Jerry Rawlings fumed.
